Participants must successfully pass the pre-test before registering for the lifeguard certification course.

  • The pre-test is free.
  • The pre-test may be taken Dec. 2-19 at the Capodichino Fit Zone Pool.
  • Open to U.S. ID card holders, ages 15 years and older
  • Register here for the mandatory pre-test by Dec. 18.

The pre-test consists of two requirements:

2. A timed event within 50 seconds, starting in the water swim 20 meters with no goggles, submerge to the bottom of the pool to retrieve a 10-pound brick, return to the surface to swim or walk holding the brick with both hands and exit the water without using the steps or ladder.
