Swim Levels
Preschool (Ages 4-5): For brand-new swimmers who are unfamiliar with the water and need help with water adjustment, positive attitudes towards the water and basic safe practices around the water.
Level 1 (Ages 5-10): An introduction to water skills. Swimmers will learn safe practices and will develop basic aquatics skills that reinforce and strengthen a positive attitude around the water. Swimmers will learn how to use bobs, floats and bubbles to independently traverse the pool environment safely by the end of this level. No pre-requisite needed for this level.
Level 2 (Ages 5-15): This level builds on basic water skills and begins to teach the fundamentals of swimming while strengthening water safety and awareness in the aquatic environment. Swimmers will learn simultaneous arm and leg movements and will build on the independence gained in the previous level.
Prerequisite: Swimmers must be able to float on their own, perform a succession of five bobs and must be able to enter/exit the water on their own.
Level 3 (Ages 5-15): This level builds on fundamentals of swimming and focuses on formal stroke introduction. Swimmers will be introduced to all the strokes and will receive instruction that promotes injury prevention and pushes swimmers towards stroke development.
Prerequisite: Swimmers must be able to demonstrate they can swim on their own and should be able to swim on their front and back.
